The ambitious student Sydney is working flat out on her diploma thesis in forensic psychology and during her research comes across a case in which three young perpetrators have tortured people to death in a dark basement. Since the evidence was insufficient, they were released again. From then on, the myth of an alleged clown as the real perpetrator grew more and more. Sydney begins to question whether the teens were the perpetrators and is sucked into a maelstrom of lies and cover-ups until her own life is at stake. When corpses suddenly appear again, the seriousness of the situation is clear: the clown is murdering again!
